Born in Saint Petersburg in 1980. Based between Switzerland and France.
My current project "State Business" launched in 2010 focuses on the conflict commodities industry and the environments in which it operates.
Beside that I'm also working on "Privileged|Confidential”, a project about shifts of political power and entites and individuals that attempt to preserve it.
Between 2007-2010 I worked in the Russian North Caucasus on "File-126", a project about the abductions of civilians within the framework of Russian counter-terrorism regime.
My work has been published in XXI, New Yorker, NYTimes, BJP, Aperture, and Esquire and exhibited by the Noorderlicht, Open Society Foundation, Paris Photo, Unseen, and Fotomuseum Winterthur among others.
My background is in art history with course work in Genocide Studies, and a photography year at the Danish Media and Journalism School. In 2011, I spent a year as artist in residency at Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, France.
